I love the holiday season, but I get really excited for the start of the new year and the fresh beginnings that January brings.
Getting up early before the kids a couple days before the New Year, I turn on the coffee maker and pull out my new paper planner (I love having something physical to throw in my purse) and our family calendar. I meticulously fill out our schedules, birthdays, special events, begin penciling in vacations and little trips across our home state of Colorado, and begin setting my goals for the new year.
Looking back at the prior year, especially with the kids, my favorite part is hearing everyone’s responses about what the best part of their year was, the challenges we all faced, and our favorite memories.
Reminiscing helps me to focus on the improvements and changes I want to make in the new year, which is why I set goals and New Years Resolutions.
And all seriousness aside, it’s also a great time to capture it in writing what my kids remember the most — in their own words – to save and look back on in 20 years.
Here are two downloadable printables to revisit 2016 & look towards 2017:
Happy New Year!
