Printable Camping with Kids Checklist

How many times have you gotten to your camping spot, began to unpack at your kid-friendly campsite and put everything exactly where it should go, only to discover you forgot something important?

I know I definitely have.

The thing is… when you’re camping with kids, some of those things you can’t make do without, and definitely don’t want to be in the middle of the wilderness without (er… bug spray or diapers.)

I’ve done this too many times to count, but the first time I forgot something important while taking our kids on their first camping trip, it was a doozy.

Our twin babies were at the perfect age to put anything and everything into their mouths. This is why I thought it’d be ideal if I packed their playpens so I could plop them into them while we unpacked the campsite and set everything up, and a good spot for them to safely play during our trip.

Guess what I forgot that first camping trip?

Yes, two pack and plays I could vividly picture in the garage laying on their sides in the front of the garage.

Exactly where they were as I told myself to go grab them and put them in our camping gear pile so I wouldn’t forget them.

The rest of the trip was spent picking up the twins, moving them around so they wouldn’t eat rocks, dirt and bugs, and constantly being on high-alert about where they were scooting off to next.

It wasn’t the most pleasant camping experience, to say the least.

But, lesson learned and that’s why I never pull out of the garage without first checking our camping checklist to make sure nothing important gets left behind again.

Camping with kids is fun and doesn’t have to be stressful – when you have everything you need!

Now, I’m not only armed with a helpful checklist so I don’t forget anything, but have mastered the art of camping with kids with these genius camping hacks and have also found easy & yummy camping meals even my picky eater begs me to make!
